The Ghana Medical Association has said it would not be wrong for junior doctors to withdraw their services should senior doctors resign.

[contextly_sidebar id=”n2iTWb7W5ugVdCYrAx9Q9ygHJqvhy3Cg”]Speaking to Citi News, the Deputy General Secretary of the GMA, Dr. Justice Yankson commended the junior doctors  who have  served notice of a possible withdrawal of services due to the senior doctors’ strike.

Dr Yankson says the intended action of the junior doctors is in compliance with the law.

“If people want to be law abiding and don’t want to breach the laws of the state, I think it is very fair if they put it out there, he continued “They are stating the position of the law and until that changes, let’s respect them and give them their due.”

The Ghana Medical Association is currently on strike following a deadlock in negotiations between the association and government over the adoption of a proposed document containing their conditions of service.
