The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has admonished representatives of various assemblies in the Ashanti Region to remain focused and forge ahead to ensure the development of the various communities in Kumasi.

The Asantehene further urged the assembly members to bring to the fore, problems within their respective areas to be resolved.

He was speaking when the Mayor of Kumasi paid him a courtesy visit as part of his activities marking his 15th anniversary of enstoolment.

The Asantehene further emphasized the need for community members to sacrifice for the various communities they represent.

“If you wouldn’t forget why you were tasked to work at the assembly, and you know what the job requires, it shouldn’t be a difficult job. The job requires people who are willing to sacrifice for their communities and may not be paid so please ensure that you do the right thing and what is expected of you,” he said.

He questioned what assembly members do when problems are identified in the various assemblies saying, “do you raise it at the Committee level meeting and do you follow up to ensure that the problem is tackled? We know that we are human and could forget ourselves but let’s ensure that we contribute to the effective development of our communities and Kumasi as a whole.”
