In 1965, engineer Gordon Moore passed a comment that has now been paraphrased as Moore’s Law. The law loosely says that today’s latest technology will be obsolete in eighteen months.

Over the years, Moore’s law has been proved correct. Doesn’t if feel just like yesterday when smartphones emerged on the market? Today, they are considered a basic amenity for urban life. So if technology changes that fast how can you possibly keep up with the latest?

[contextly_sidebar id=”lkVuoGLO77aM93MMfCWv4A5ZlamRh6u6″]Well, you can relax and take it as it comes, or you can listen to Citi Trends.

In just 30 minutes each week, Philip Kofi Ashon updates you on the latest happenings in the world of technology with a programme called CitiTrends.  The magazine style radio show covers technology and its applications in the Ghanaian and African context.

Past episodes have discussed issues like the challenges of mobile app developers, new systems for shipping and freight forwarding, online learning solutions, Cybersecurity, and the newly announced Windows 10.

A show that discusses cutting edge technology should be handled by a host who has a foot in the present and an eye on the future, and Philip fits that description snugly.

In media circles, Philip is considered a complete practitioner who can work both traditional and online media channels. He is a product of the Cardiff University, and in March 2015, Newaccra Magazine named him as one of ‘Thirty Ghanaians about to shake the world’.

Colleagues and acquintances find it remarkable that Philip goes around asking for feedback after each episode. Things can only get better on this programme.

CitiTrends airs every Tuesday at 19:00 GMT on CitiFM 97.3 FM in Ghana, or citifmonline.com worldwide, or CITI FM on the TuneIn App.
