The Chairman of the State Enterprises Commission, Dr Camynta Baezie has told Citi Business News he will not back down on his quest to sue the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA) for implementing his intellectual property which is the third party insurance premiums.
[contextly_sidebar id=”nOrAOHGT0rC9ayURLVmL8xTY3oolGJwl”]Dr Baezie is claiming that he developed the concept in his capacity as a consultant to allow for increases in the third party insurance premiums to mobilize 30 million cedis annually for DVLA, the police, and some other agencies.
But the GIA has dismissed his assertions and has threatened to do a counter lawsuit.
”We never considered his so called concept paper in any way during the tariff review so he better shut up before we take legal action against him” Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Insurers Association, Atsu Menyawuvor told Citi Business News.
But Dr Baezie in an interview with Citi Business News maintained that his concept would have reduced carnage on the country’s roads.
”Once they are able to resource all these institutions then collectively we can reduce the accidents, if we don’t do it that way we are just collecting money for the sake of collection and it will have the effect for which motor insurance was instituted in the first place.”
He adds that ”if the insurance companies and the whole country is not clapping for me, then I don’t know what else i should be saying” Dr Baezie stated.
