The Ghana Medical and Dental Council has submitted its investigative report into the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) missing baby saga to the Ministry of Health.

The Nurses and Midwifery Council has however asked for an extension to submit its report at a later date.

The two institutions began investigations into the disappearance of a number of babies from KATH after the Health Ministry got involved in the matter.

The Doctor and Nurse on duty were asked to proceed on leave pending investigations.

In an interview with Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of the Health Ministry, Tony Goodman said a committee will meet on the report and make recommendations to the Minister.

According to him, during deliberations, “a lot of things will be put in context. When you look at when this issue happened, how it happened…”

He added that the final decision which will be taken by the Ministry will rest on the recommendations the two bodies outlined in the respective reports.
