Residents of Bimbila in the Northern Region have called for a complete lifting of the curfew imposed on the area.

They complained that the imposition of the curfew had adverse effects on residents’ socio-economic development.

The Ministry of Interior on Monday, April 14, 2014 reviewed the 12 hour curfew imposed on Bimbila from 9pm to 5am.

The curfew was imposed on Bimbila Township following sporadic shooting in the area between the Nakpaa-Naa Salifu Dawuni and the Naa-Andani royals.

The shootout left one person dead.

Freelance Journalist, Mohammed Amin Alabira reported a day after a review of the curfew that residents of Bimbila Township were unhappy about the development.

He said most residents he spoke to called for a complete lifting of the curfew.
