The Breman Asikuma District Police Command has mounted an intensive search for a 28-year-old jealous husband who inflicted severe cutlass wounds on his wife and two in-laws over divorce.

Kofi Ahmed, from Breman Kwaa Annan in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District, was said to have broken into his wife’s room and inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on her.

Police Chief Inspector Isaac Dzefe, Station Officer at the  Breman Asikuma District Police Command  said the suspect,  also inflicted severe cutlass wounds on Mr Sampson Amfo and Mrs Martha Amfo both parents of his wife, Ms Leticia Amfo, for their role in the divorce threat.

Chief Inspector Dzefe said, sometime this month, Ms Amfo informed her husband that her mother was sick at Breman Kwaa -Annan, and wanted to visit her but he objected.

Chief Inspector Dzefe said the wife flouted the decision of her husband and visited her mother.

He said while the wife was at Breman-Kwaa-Annan the suspect threw out the woman’s personal belongings.

Chief Inspector Dzefe said when the woman heard about her husband’s action, she informed her parents.

He said on July 8, the husband came to Breman Kwaa-Annan where the marriage was dissolved.

Chief Inspector Dzefe said the following day, the jealous husband went to the house of the wife to see his child and later asked the wife to see him off.

He said on the way, the suspect who was armed with a cutlass, pulled it out and attempted to kill his wife, but she took to her heels.

The station officer said at about mid-night, the suspect broke into the room where the ex-wife and the parents were sleeping, and inflicted cutlass wounds on them and fled.

He said the victims who bled profusely were rushed to Our Lady of Grace Hospital at Breman Asikuma where they are responding to treatment.

He said the police are investigating the matter, and appealed to the public to help apprehend the suspect.
