Domestic airline Starbow has commenced its much-anticipated Accra-Suyani flights to serve passengers from the Brong Ahafo Region in its 78-seater Bombardier aircraft.
It becomes the onoh indigenous airline to operate flights to the mid north city Sunyani of Ghana as Antrak Airline which was operating to the town has stopped.
Currently the Airline will be flying to Suyani four (4) times a week being Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Flights will leave Accra at 12:15pm and will also depart Sunyani at 1:45pm as its flight schedule through all the four days.
Chief Executive Officer of Starbow James Eric Antwi has told Citi Business News that measures have been put in place to sustain flights to Sunyani and even increase it to daily flights if the passengers’ ratio increases.
According to him, the airline would soon begin its flights to some seven West African countries in the sub Region namely Liberia, Sirrea Leone, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Burkina Faso.
The spacious 78-seater Bombardier aircraft produced in Canada is set to lead the company’s ambitions of resuminginternational flights in the West African sub region.
The growth in air traffic between Accra and Sunyani has kept up with the growth in economic activities in the Brong Ahafo Regional capital.
This coupled with the already large presence of some mining, quarrying, lumber companies and the huge presence some agro processing factories operating in the region has made it one of the busiest commercial centers.
