The Police in Bawku in the Upper East Region have arrested two suspected criminals believed to have murdered two persons after robbing them of their assets.
The suspects, Lukeman Atuguba Abdulai and Awudu Moro, are also believed to have committed series of robberies in Bawku and other surrounding communities.

Speaking to Citi News the Bawku District Police Commander Chief Inspector, Lovelace Kaletsi Tefutor said the suspects have been remanded as investigations continue.
“Police had information that they were hiding in a Mosque at a place called Missiga, a suburb of Bawku. Police went in at dawn and arrested the said Atuguba and Awudu Moro with one AK-47 rifle and 29 rounds of ammunitions.”
“Prior to that there were series of robbery in Missiga which they were allegedly involved in. As at now we are preparing to put them before court and they are in remand in the Police custody for further investigation,” he added.
Bawku has been under curfew for some time now following sporadic shooting incidents that has been happening in the area.
The Bawku town, according to the Police, has so many illegal weapons which are being used to commit crime.
In 2014, government asked residents in the area to exchange their guns for money in a bid to rid the town of illegal arms being used to perpetrate killings in the Mamprusi-Kusasi chieftaincy conflict.
Weeks after the announcement, the Bawku Police Commander Chief Superintendent Lovelace Tefutor said the residents were not enthused about the deal.
The ban on motorbike riding was subsequently imposed five years ago, to among other things, forestall the recurring shooting incidents.
The ban on motorbike riding has subsequently been lifted.
