Despite Mark Woyongo’s defense of his “violence begets violence” comment, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu has opined that the Interior Minister has outlived his usefulness in office.

According to him, Mark Woyongo’s comment in relation to the violence which characterized the Talensi by-election in the Upper East Region exposed his ineptitude.

[contextly_sidebar id=”H2Cc3PL8ksS2Gh0qTy4w9IHw3q6RpUjh”]“I condemn what happened in Talensi as the regional Chairman for Northern Region and I also condemn the Minister for Interior, Mr. Mark Woyongo: I was so disappointed and I wasn’t happy to hear this come out from the minister’s mouth.”
He said as someone of northern origin, the Interior Minister should have known better.

“Knowing very well you are from the north: you know the problems in the north where we have chieftaincy problems, tribal problems and even party problems and you a minister should say this, then I am sorry for him.”
Daniel Bugri Naabu also kicked against any attempt to legalize the political parties’ vigilante groups that are in existence.

“I don’t expect a true northern son to say that he will legalize the Azorka Boys: I want Mark Woyongo to know that if should in case there is no peace in the north then he has caused it.”

The outspoken NPP Northern Regional Chairman likened the Interior Minister’s comment to the emergence of Boko Haram in Nigeria.

“He should know that doing that he is bringing Boko Haram in the Northern Region.”
