The Delhi Public School International (DPSI) in Ghana has won three gold trophies and 27 medals at the Global Round of the 2015 World Scholar’s Cup.
The students from DPSI who represented Ghana in the competition displayed great performance which earned them the trophies for the first and third place in Africa under the junior division category.

Members of the team who represented in the senior division category also won a gold trophy for placing third in Africa.
The competition which was held in Malaysia had over 2,500 participants from 40 countries from across the world.
Participants contested in various subjects including, Music, Science, Arts, History, Literature, Social Studies and Special Areas about Heroes and Superheroes.
13-year-old Dunia Seidu won the most medals – 8 medals for her excellent performance while the group leader, Rishabh Goel earned 6 medals.
Other members of the group, Shawn Owusu-Nortey, Nii Abe Abbey, Pranav Tyagi, Vishal Mukesh Thakwani, Bhaarat Thakwani, Sagar Pritmani, and Diksha Shandilya outshined their opponents which placed DPSI at the top.
These 9 students are among 500 pupils from across the globe who have qualified to proceed to the final stage of the competition.
The grand finale known as the Tournament of Champions will take place in November 2015 at Yale University in the United States.
The World Scholar’s Cup is a team academic tournament which provides opportunities for future scholars and leaders to discover and develop their intellectual skills through debating, collaborative writing and quiz.
DPSI is a corporate social responsibility project of B5 Plus Limited, a steel company in Tema and it has an enrollment of students from more than 22 countries.
12-year-old Shawn Owusu-Nortey is one of the 9-member team who made Ghana proud.
In his pre-competition interview, he indicated the commitment of his team members to make themselves proud, their school and the nation as well.
He highlighted the all rounded and non-restrictive education he and his mates were receiving at DPSI.
