The Police administration says it will keep its officers in Tamale in the Northern Region until it is convinced there is no evidence of tension in the area.
The Police administration augmented its force there with hundreds of officers ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) national delegates’ conference.
Police Director of Operation COP, John Kudalor said Tamale is still tensed as a result of the shooting incident last Thursday hence, the decision to keep the officers there till they are convinced there is peace in the area.
“We are keeping our presence in the area until we notice that tensions in the area have totally ceased. We will also ensure that every delegate leaves Tamale before we take a decision to leave the area. We have gone through all the operational systems and we are on course,” he said
