4 NPP Constituencies want new executives

Some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in four out of the seven constituencies challenging the legitimacy of their delegates are demanding fresh elections to choose new executives.

This is after an Accra High Court placed an injunction on NPP delegates from seven constituencies from voting in the Tamale conference.

Some of the affected constituencies include Krowor, Kumawu, Manhyia North among others.

Speaking to Citi News, the Lawyer for four of the litigating constituencies, Gary Nimako insisted that some delegates from some constituencies did not go through the right procedures during the elections.

“The problem is that certain people did not go through proper elections. This is an affront to the constitution and also an affront to the national constitution. Can we all sit down as a party and do the right thing by conducting a new election that will be in conformity with the NPP constitution? Once they decide on that all litigation will cease,” he explained.

Mr Nimako also dismissed suggestions by some delegates that they had secured a stay of execution that should have allowed them to vote in the Tamale conference.

“If you are told not to do something by the court of law, it simply means you don’t do it. If you think that there was an error that the court did you bring a motion for the court to take it into consideration,” he insisted.
