Hundreds of women on Monday thronged the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to express their appreciation to government for appointing a female as the Chairperson for the Electoral Commission.

The women were from the Greater Accra Chapter of the group calling itself the Concerned Women of Ghana.

President John Mahama in June appointed Charlotte Osei as EC Boss to replace Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, who retired after serving for 22 years.
