FCP Premier League Week 21: Hasaacas knock Hearts down

Match week 21 of the First Capital Plus Premier League came off at the all the match centres and the biggest winners on the day were AshGold and Hasaacas.

For the Miners, they grabbed a valuable 1-0 home win over Aduana Stars thanks to Kadiri Mohammed. AshGold now move to 40 points while Aduana remain on 32.

Berekum Chelsea got a 2-0 home win over New Edubiase at the Golden City Park. Kingsley Osei Effah and Stephen “Manucho” Baffour  got the goals for the home side.

Hasaacas will travel back to Sekondi with a lot of smiles after they beat Hearts of Oak 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Attacking midfielder Emmanuel Ankobiah scored both goals for the “Do Boys” after just six minutes.

The match was held up in the first half after an assistant referee was struck by a missile but the match restarted and Hearts managed to get a a goal from Philip Boampong but they could not complete the recovery.

Inter Allies also grabbed the stack of points after beating Olympics 1-0 in Tema.

Forward Sherif Mohammed Deo  scored the only goal in the 18th minute. Bechem United won their match against Liberty Professionals 2-1 after Coffie Bekoe and Isaac Nyamewero scored for the home side while Kennedy Ashia got one back from the penalty spot for the Liberty for his 10th goal of the season.

Medeama and Asante Kotoko played out a goalless draw in Tarkwa but the high point was Ahmed Toure’s inability to put away a penalty in the 89th minute.

The forward won the penalty but he sent his kick high above the goal as the two teams shared the points. The Volta Regional derby ended 2-1 in favour of WAFA against Heart of Lions.

WAFA went one up through Bashiru Umar but Osman Sackey responded for Lions. However, Kennedy Boateng found the net in the 90th minute and sent the points in WAFA’s direction.

Wa All Stars and B.A. United drew blank in their match played in Wa.
