Citi Business News checks across the capital have revealed some Oil Marketing companies have sanctioned a close to 15% increase in fuel prices at the pumps.
The change in prices at the pumps vary from one station to the other.
[contextly_sidebar id=”ZJ92fAWP543RnEUUDPW7eGFpnTWcwPFO”]A visit to the Shell pump station at Asylum Down revealed there was a 50.5 pesewas increase in the price of petrol, up from 3 cedis 47.4 pesewas to 3 cedis 97.9 pesewas per litre.
The price of diesel has also increased by 36 pesewas per litre, currently selling at 3 cedis 73.7 pesewas .It was previously selling at 3 cedis 37 pesewas per litre.
At the Total Pump station near the Iran Clinic at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, the price of petrol has been increased by 50.9 pesewas.
Petrol was selling at 3 cedis , 97.9 pesewas , previously selling at 3 cedis 47 pesewas.
The price of Diesel also increased by 36 pesewas , increasing from 3 cedis 37 pesewas to 3 cedis 73 pesewas.
Ghana Oil Company (GOIL) has also increased the price of petrol by close to 10%.
The station manager at the GOIL at Mpamprom at Kaneshie, Benjamin Mills confirmed to Citi Business news that Petrol was selling at 3 cedis 79 pesewas while it was previously selling at 3 cedis 45 pesewas .
Diesel was selling at 3 cedis 57 pesewas , selling earlier at 3 cedis 35 pesewas.
Some private and commercial drivers who spoke to Citi Business news complained about the regular hike in fuel prices.
Meanwhile Citi Business News checks at the So Fresh pump station in Adabraka revealed that Petrol and diesel were all selling at old price as at 9:30 am in the morning.
