Six weeks after being declared Ebola free, Liberia has record one new case.
A 17-year-old boy who tested positive for Ebola has died.
Liberia’s Deputy Health Minister, Tolbert Nyenswah confirmed the new case, adding that officials are now investigating to ascertain how the deceased contracted the disease.

He has however assured the general public that there is no need to panic about the new recorded case.
“We have said over and over again that there was possibility that there could be a resurgence of the virus in Liberia but our surveillance team, our capacity is very strong,” he said.
“The only complication is that the person died before we tested the body as part of our surveillance system,” Mr Nyenswah added.
In May 2015, the World Health Organization declared Liberia Ebola–free after 42 days of no recorded case which is twice the maximum incubation period of the deadly Ebola disease.
The country subsequently held an official celebration of the country being declared free of Ebola.
Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea are the three West African countries were the worst affected countries in West Africa since the outbreak in March 2014.
There have been more than 4,700 Ebola deaths in Liberia, more than any other affected country.
There have been more than 11,000 deaths in West Africa.
