The Coalition of Unemployed Nurses and Midwives and the Ghana Nurses-Midwife Trainees’ Association (GNMTA) have suspended their intended demonstration due to what executives described as “a grace period” of 22 days given to the sector Minister, Alex Segbefia.

[contextly_sidebar id=”1BSES2ZzefCzj4P0GI9gEP66fxTvlwtX”]The group had planned to demonstrate on Tuesday, June 30 to protest the Health Ministry’s failure to post its members to various health facilities since they completed school.

However, the group said it has rescheduled the demonstration to afford the new Health Minister, enough time to study their concerns.

National Coordinator of the group, Marcus Sarfo told Citi News the group will take action in three weeks if the Minister fail to attend to their needs.

A press statement from the group also said the members decided on the postponement as a sign of respect to the Minister who indicated that he was not properly informed about their plight and promised to deal with the matter if given some time.

“We have given the Minister and his team 22 days to resolve our issues or we hit the streets,” the statement noted.
