Resit of the cancelled Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) papers is currently ongoing in some 1,546 centres across the country.
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) cancelled five papers after they went viral on social media.
The subjects were English Language 2, Religious and Moral Education 2, Science 2, Mathematics 2 and Social Studies 2.
WAEC has explained that the cancellation was to protect the integrity of the examination.
About 438,030 candidates are participating the resit.
In a related development, the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) is heavily involved in the supervision.
Addressing a gathering at a ceremony in Accra over the weekend the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary Education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said, “the National Security and for that matter the BNI investigation we authorized continues. So far significant arrests have been made and the National Security is beginning to have an idea of where the compromises came from. Most importantly, I want to assure the nation that in preparation of the re-run papers the National Security will collaborate with WAEC to administer the exams.”
