Vera Addo’s selection was announced by Moremi Initiative for Women’s Leadership in Africa as part of the 2015 MILEAD (Moremi Initiative Leadership and Empowerment Development) Fellows initiative.

This new cohort of MILEAD Fellows represent Africa’s most promising young women leaders with the courage and commitment to lead and shape the future of Africa.

The Fellows were chosen through a highly competitive selection process and criteria based on their outstanding leadership promise, community service accomplishments, and commitment to the advancement of women in Africa.

In 2014, VERADO foundation teamed up with the Ladies Club of Golden Star Wassa Mines to promote programs on girl-child education, adolescent reproductive health, breast cancer and HIV/AIDS screening and awareness campaign for rural women in 6 communities.

Over 300 women and girls benefitted from these programs.   Ms. Addo is the leader of the Youth Voices Post-2015 National Consultation, coordinated by Youth Empowerment Synergy (YES Ghana), and a member of the analysis team that produced the report “Youth Voices on a Post-2015 World”, supervised by Restless Development, London.

In November 2013, she was invited by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, London as a youth speaker on the “role of young people in development”.

Vera is the Youth President at her church, and enjoys spending time with children, in particular the girl-child. She is also passionate about good governance.
