The Northern Regional Police Command says it has arrested five people in connection with the recent disturbances in the region.

Shooting incidents and clashes in Aboabo in Tamale, Sagnarigu and other areas left a few people dead.

Some National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth also burnt down a local radio station, Radio Justice in Tamale.

According to the Northern Regional Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said the culprits are on remand while others have been arraigned before court.

He told Citi News, two of the suspects will re-appear in court next week while the three others will re-appear on April 22.

ASP Tetteh thanked residents in the area for collaborating with the Police to apprehend the culprits.
