After a year of battling with the deadliest outbreak of Ebola, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Liberia Ebola free in May 2015, after 42 days without a new case of the virus.
The virus since March 2014 infected thousands and killed more than 11,000 people in the three most affected West African countries, Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
There is great concern and anxiety among the authorities and residents since all Ebola quarantine facilities in Freetown had been closed.
According to health officials, there is a high possibility of further infections since the new cases emanated from a densely populated slum.
Presently, clinical trials are ongoing to find a vaccine for the Ebola virus.
