The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Western Region has caused the arrest of a 33-year security man for for illegally supplying ECG meters in Takoradi.
[contextly_sidebar id=”EuyhHJ9esUZDMp7Tbo1iZHxu3l132WNi”]David Fameye who is currently in Police custody in Takoradi is said to have been supplying the meters under the pretense of working for the ECG.
Head of communications for ECG in the Western Region, Philip Osei Bonsu noted that earlier investigations carried out on the suspect suggest that he has been harboring many of the ECG Service Application Forms and six ECG prepaid cards.
Speaking to Citi News, Philip Osei Bonsu further indicated that, apart from the items found on him, it was also revealed that David Fameye was engaged in “stealing already fixed meters from unsuspecting households in the twin city.”
Mr. Osei Bonsu added that “as the company’s customer base keeps expanding in the region, some of these incidents are expected, but this is why we have put our monitoring and supervision men on the high alert to flush all these persons away from the system.”
He urged the public to collaborate with their monitoring team and also provide timely information to help the company minimize losses.
