Cletus Avoka’s son dies in military training

A 23-year-old son of former Majority Leader in Parliament Cletus Avoka, Maxwell Avoka has died.

Maxwell died on Thursday after going through an initial rigorous military exercise popularly referred to as “donning”.

A family member who confirmed his death to Citi News said Maxwell was bleeding from the nose when he was identified at the hospital.

He was reportedly dropped off at the Ghana Military Academy at Teshie on Thursday morning by his elder brother and died in the afternoon.

His father, Cletus Avoka is currently away in Malaysia on an official assignment and is on his way back.

When Citi News contacted the Ghana Armed Forces, they declined to comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, further checks by Citi News has also revealed that another recruit has been sent to the 37 military hospital after collapsing during training.
