Some candidates taking part in the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) in the Kumasi metropolis have threatened to boycott the resit of the cancelled examination papers by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The candidates, who claimed they did not get access to the alleged leaked examination questions, said they did not deserve to be punished for acts they have not committed.

Clement Agyei and Ibrahim Imoro, both of the Sepe-Tinpom M/A Junior High School said WAEC had been unfair to them.
According to them, after staying awake for several weeks to prepare for the exams, they were already exhausted to do any meaningful revisions to enable them to write the cancelled papers.
They said with the current power outages, coupled with mosquitoes bites in the nights, they would find it difficult to prepare adequately again for the papers.
“We are fed-up with WAEC and we will no more write the exams but will opt for apprenticeship training in any vocation”.
Meanwhile, some teachers in the metropolis have also expressed disappointment about the cancellation of the papers.
They said the cancellation would disrupt academic work in some schools, especially the examinations centres.
The WAEC on Wednesday announced the cancellation of five papers in the ongoing BECE, citing massive leakage of examination papers.
The affected papers are English paper two, Mathematics Paper two, Integrated Science, Religious and Moral Education (RME) paper two and social studies.
