President John Dramani Mahama has urged Muslims to pray for peace and prosperity in Ghana as they begin this year’s Ramadan month of fasting.

[contextly_sidebar id=”NpLxUud5vxfIbFgEecVkOnY304I9qdlC”]It is the belief of Muslims that the Holy Quran was first sent down to the Prophet Mohammad (Peace be Upon Him) during the month of Ramadan.

“The nation expects our Muslim brothers and sisters during this period of fasting to totally submit to Allah and remember our beloved country in their prayers”, President Mahama stated in a release form Flagstaff House.

While wishing Muslims a blessed “Ramadan Kareem”, the President also urged them to use the holy month to purify their hearts and detoxify their bodies, with the view to drawing closer to Almighty Allah.

President Mahama also encouraged Ghanaians to lend support to Muslims in their communities to enable them to fulfill the requirements of the month of Ramadan.
