A former Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament (MP) for Suhum, Fred Opare has charged President Mahama to be decisive and show that he is in-charge of the nation.

He was commenting on the latest reshuffle of heads of public institutions and departments.

[contextly_sidebar id=”GRqywOU7niwCdd5okVTExVKXyT9AE4MD”]According to Opare, increasing uncertainties over the fate of political and public appointees in President Mahama’s government shows that the Ghanaian leader is not his own man.

The Mahama-led- administration has been reshuffling Ministers for sometime now but Monday’s reshuffle of heads of public institutions and departments caused a stir with some questioning the rationale behind the decision.

The current head of the Youth Enterprise Authority (YEA) Kobby Acheampong has replaced Kofi Attoh as head of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC).

Speaking on the development, Opare said the constant reshuffling under President Mahama’s  administration gives the impression that he was indecisive.

“Let the President be decisive..I want to see my President be able to take decisions and seen to be taking those decisions boldly. Not to be hinting at wanting to take those decisions as if he is waiting for someone’s approval …Let him be bold and take the decisions that he needs to take. We don’t want any seeming puppet President,” the MP said.

“The President himself intimated at the fact that he has been under pressure to let the Finance Minister go,who is giving him these pressures and why does it seem like if he wants to take a decision he cannot. ..Is the President really in control? It[His actions] is giving this seeming effect of him being a puppet. The indecision that he seems to be showing is giving that effect.”

Speaking on Mr. Sylvester Mensah’s reassignment, Mr Opare asked the President to clarify whether he has indeed resigned or not.

“If the topmost person in this institution has left everybody has the right to know not to go :on speculation spree and hold the whole nation in ransom. There entities both internal and external that are dealing with this organisation (NHIA).
