Mobile giant MTN has begun investigations into the circulation of images of MTN branded condoms.

Questions were raised over whether the telecom giant had moved into condom manufacturing.
But a press statement from the mobile giant denied producing them.
According to MTN it has not produced or authorized the production of condoms on its behalf for any purpose whatsoever.
MTN adds it has launched investigations into the matter and vows to pursue the perpetrators.
“MTN Ghana has been made aware of an image circulating on various social media platforms showing condoms packaged in MTN colours and bearing the company’s logo. MTN Ghana wishes to state categorically that it has neither produced nor authorized the production of condoms on its behalf for any purposes whatsoever,” the statement said.
According to the company, the abuse of it’s brand is an infringement against MTN’s intellectual property rights and it will pursue the full rigours of the law against the perpetrators.
