Tullow Oil and the Jubilee Partners have presented a cheque for GH₵500, 000 to the 37 Military Hospital to assist them in the delivery of medical care to victims of the recent floods and fire disaster.
[contextly_sidebar id=”xr2KkALjmgnX4W9N5GQb1OPR7ehdCJyd”]Managing Director of Tullow Oil, Charles Darku, who made the presentation, told journalists that the gesture was a way of sharing in the plight of the affected persons and Ghanaians in general.
“As members of the community, we feel that it was appropriate to share in the plight of Ghanaians,” he said.
Mr. Darku implored the public to be extra careful to avoid such unfortunate occurrences and called on other corporate organisations to extend support to hospitalised victims of the flood and fire disaster.
Ken Keag, Country Manager of Kosmos Energy, said the gesture was the companies’ “widow’s mite’” to the survivors of the unfortunate incident as a form of corporate social responsibility.
“We are here to partner the country both in the good and the bad times; this is our ‘widow’s mite’ to assist the hospital in taking care of the injured persons,” he said.
Deputy Minister of Petroleum, Ben Dagadu, commended Tullow Oil and the Jubilee Partners for the kind gesture as it will supplement government’s support to cater for patients of the unfortunate incident.
Commanding Officer of the 37 Military Hospital, Col. Samuel Adjei, thanked Tullow and its partners for the donation which will go a long way to improve healthcare delivery to the patients.
