The NPP in the Western Region has said it is setting up a reconciliation committee to unite winners and losers of the just ended Parliamentary primaries in the region.

This according to the Western Regional Director of Communications Director, Afrifa Amankwa Okatakyie, will ensure all differences would be settled and refocus on victory ahead of the 2016 general elections.

[contextly_sidebar id=”irQe19tEKHhgbJkHgGmTgalgH6fGls2W”]“It is not easy to lose an election especially when delegates assured you of their delegates. But it is too early to calm egos. We expect it to calm down in the next week or two. This is why we are setting up the reconciliation committee to bring both winners and losers to go to all constituencies in the region to gear all of them up for election 2016,” Okatakyie Amankwa indicated.

A total of 44 people contested in the 21 constituencies in the region.

11 out the number were popularly acclaimed.

Some of those who lost in the region and other parts of the country have expressed their disappointment in delegates who assured them of their votes.

Others have threatened to seek redress in court with others having hinted of going independent.

He also appealed to the media to refrain from conducting interviews with those who lost their bid to contest in the 2016 general elections.

He said “with the pain still in their hearts, some of them may say wild things they may not mean them, which is why the media should try to desist from speaking especially with the losers for now.”
