The first Vietnamese Trade Mission will visit Ghana from June 15 to June 16, 2015.
The trade mission is being organized by the Ghana-Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and the Association of Ghanaian Industries (AGI).
Whilst in the country, the mission, which is led by the Vietnam Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Hoang Ngoc Ho, will pay courtesy calls on some ministries and agencies of government including the ministries of Trade and industry, Power, Petroleum, Food and Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture, and the Ghana Investment promotion Centre (GIPC).
The multi-sector delegation consisting of 14 companies will also take part in a one-day business conference at the Auditorium of the College of Physicians and Surgeons where they will meet with their counterparts from AGI, GCCI and other private sector operatives in Ghana.
According to Mr. Freeman G. Asiama, the coordinator of Vietnamese Trade Mission to Ghana, the delegation is seeking investment in various sectors in the country including Agriculture development, Aquaculture development, Internet Technology (IT), education, chemistry and fertilizer, construction material, household appliances and electronic and power equipment.
“This visit will strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and provide the Vietnamese companies the opportunity to establish ties with Ghanaian businesses in order to explore possible partnerships in each of the sectors they represent,” he said.
The volume of trade between Ghana and Vietnam in 2014 was USD 250million.
