The Police have warned persons who intend to cause trouble at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary primaries, to drop such plans because they will be prosecuted if arrested.
“The public are, therefore, entreated to observe the electoral laws, and the rules and regulations governing the polls to avoid committing any electoral offences. Those who break the law shall be arrested and processed for court in accordance with the law.”

The party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko and presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo have all called on the delegates to vote for winnable candidates for the party.
A statement signed by the Director General of the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Rev. David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin assured that the Police will provide adequate security at the various constituencies.
“The Police Service wishes to assure the general public that the Police are poised to provide adequate security for the New Patriotic Party [NPP] parliamentary primaries slated for tomorrow, Saturday 13th June 2015.”
The statement added that “adequate human and logistical resources have been marshaled to ensure effective policing and a successful process.”
They further urged members of the party to “co-operate with them to ensure a peaceful and successful election, as it happened in the presidential primaries in December, last year.”
Meanwhile, 30 constituencies will not take part in the primaries tomorrow due to some outstanding issues in such places.
