President John Mahama is blaming the poor quality of contractors for many uncompleted government projects across the country.

According to him, while some contractors are able to work with the same amount of resources and are able to follow given timelines, others fail to do so.

“We have to look at the quality of the contractors to ensure that we don’t have so many stalled and abandoned projects,” he said.

On her part, the President of PRINCOF, Rev. Sister Elizabeth Amoako Arhen pleaded with the president to facilitate the release of feeding grants for the 38 colleges of education.

“Mr. President, we have to mention that the delay in releasing the feeding grants for our students is becoming a problem, in fact, a nightmare for us and we are pleading to Your Excellency for your intervention,” she said.

She added that even though they were second semester of the academic year, they had not received the grants for the first semester.

“Principals continue to be at the mercy of suppliers who cannot be appealed to beyond certain limits anymore,” she stated.
