The Minister for Roads and Highways, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has announced that GH¢30 million out of the GH¢50 million released by government to support flood victims will be used to fix the roads destroyed by the floods.

President John Dramani Mahama announced last week that GH¢50 million will be allocated to help ameliorate the plight of those affected by the flood.
Some of the money according to the Finance Minister has been given to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to help victims with relief items.
“It’s an emergency intervention and we are directing it to areas and roads that have been adversely affected by the downpour,” the Minister added.
According to the Road Minister, the flooding was “a national emergency and government has responded to it.”
The Roads Minister disclosed this to Citi News during a tour of areas affected by last Wednesday’s flood.
Gov’t to absorb medical bills of flood, fire victims
Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur has revealed that government will take care of the medical bills of victims affected by Wednesday’s floods and explosion at a GOIL filling station.
“This is a tragedy that affects everyone and as a sign of our common humanity, the government has decided underwrite the medical bills of those injured in the disaster and are in the hospital” the Vice President said at a memorial service held at the Flagstaff House to commence the 3-day national mourning for victims.
