The Accra Metropolitan Assembly, AMA has demolished over 25 structures at Soldier Bar around the Iran Clinic at Obra Spot Station in Circle, Accra.
The structures include shops and offices belonging to the GPRTU, Circle Obra Spot branch.
The exercise which started at about 9 am, saw the structures on the Soldier Bar section to the Nima Station section being pulled down.
The operation was led by the Head of Operation at the AMA, Chief Joseph Okine.
He explained to Citinews that, after an assessment by the AMA after last Wednesday`s flood, they decided that the structures be demolished to allow free flow of water into the main gutter at Asylum down.
Some traders who spoke to Citi News indicated that they were not given prior notice.
