The Andani Royals Youth in Dagbon have rejected comments by Supreme Court Judge designate, Justice Yaw Apau that the late Dagbon overlord, Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II, died during a warfare between the Abudu and Andani gates.
The Andani family continues to demand justice over the death of the late Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II, but Justice Yaw Apau when he was being vetted sought to narrate the events that led to the death of the overlord.
This has incurred the wrath of Andani Royals Youth in Dagbon who are demanding an unqualified apology from Justice Yaw Apau.
[contextly_sidebar id=”bx3R509Ckji8mSHEwjKFuMH445QdIihk”]Secretary to the Andani Royals Youth in Dagbon, Baba Issifu in a Citi News interview expressed their displeasure at the comment.
“Justice Apau has exposed his hidden bias against the Andani Royal family and he has demonstrated his bias and dislike for the truth to be told of a King who was killed in broad day light with 30 of his royal courtiers.”
Baba Issifu reiterated the Andani Royals standpoint that the late Dagbon overlord, Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani was assassinated for which reason justice must prevail.
“These are not fairy tales being told in the 21st century: the fact that the mutilated body parts of the Yaa-Naa were paraded on the streets of Yendi by a jubilant crowd is also not a fictitious play or movie.”
“If the powers that be did not provide his court with the evidence so be it but he should not use what the Andani Royal family termed a callous and a calculated attempt to cover up a high profile murder to shield the perpetrators as a mere story being told by the Andani family perhaps out of mischief,” Baba Issifu charged.
He maintained that the Kufuor-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) paid lip service to the Yaa-Naa’s death.
He also attacked the Mahama-Amissah-Arthur led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration of failing to fulfill the party’s 2008 campaign promise of conducting fresh investigations into the Yaa-Naa’s death.”
“If the Kufuor government fully and effectively covered up the brutal murder of the overlord of Dagbon and the Mahama administration intends to go back on its promise to prosecute those behind the crime has become a mere political promise: at least it is descent that Justice Apau remains silent on the issue and allow the Andani Royal family space to continue brooding over the gargantuan injustice in the history of Dagbon.”
