President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that about 150 Ghanaians have so far died from the fire explosion that occurred at the GOIL fuel station in Accra and Wednesday’s floods.

President Mahama has further declared three days of national mourning for the victims who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
Addressing the nation after a crisis meeting his security chiefs on Thursday, President Mahama directed that flags must fly at half-mast in honour of the departed souls.
Scores of Ghanaians died while some sustained various degrees of injuries after they went to seek shelter at the GOIL fuel station during a heavy downpour.
President Mahama explained that the explosion was caused by a leakage at the fuel station adding that “the inferno quickly spread and engulfed a nearby pharmacy and several properties adjoining the filling station claiming more casualties.”
Meanwhile, government has released GH¢50 million to support victims that were affected by the flood.
