The Ghana Police service says it will investigate its officers found indulging in illegal acts in the latest Anas Aremeyaw Anas undercover investigation at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
Speaking to Citi News after the premier of a documentary titled ‘Soul Takers’ by Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Director for Education, Research and Training at MTTD, DSP Alexander Obeng pointed out that the police administration will deal with any officer found guilty.
‘’Anything found in this documentary that is contrary to CI 76, will definitely not leave our radar without any attention; I think the necessary police investigation process within our department will be conducted and the [culprit police officers] will be sanctioned,’’ he said.
According to DSP Obeng the police will act swiftly with the findings of the documentary. ‘’Note that as we speak a lot of police officers through such documentaries have been either been dismissed or removed, interdicted and some are even in jail,’’ he added.
The Undercover investigations at the DVLA revealed some personnel of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department MTTD of the police service issuing cover letters to unqualified individuals to go for licenses after taking bribes from them.
