It is unclear what caused the shooting incident.

Correspondent, Gratham Macintosh reported that the lady, Ama Owusua was shot “while she was going to fetch water.”

He added that though the lady survived the attack she sustained several gunshot wounds around her shoulder and arm but she is receiving medical attention at the Wurawura Governemnt Hospital.

“When contacted, the Hohoe Divisional Commander, ASP George Gyau confirmed the incident but said they are investigating it,” Macintosh reported.

Meanwhile Chiefs and opinion leaders in the area are say they may not be able to contain the situation any longer, as the youth are not ready to listen to advice not to retaliate.

A sub chief of Nkonya Ahenkro, Nanai Obi Adiee, was on Monday morning shot dead by  an unknown assailant on his farm.

Several people been killed in thr sixty-year-old protracted land dispute between the two feuding towns; Alavanyo and Nkonya.

According to Gratham Macintosh “with this second shooting in two days, tensions are high and the youth of Nkonya are threatening to retaliate if they do not see any action from state actors any time soon.”
