Vlisco brand ambassador tours factory

The Vlisco Brand in Ghana is to introduce the Vlisco Tailor Academy programme in the Greater Accra Region to inspire and encourage young people in the fashion industry.

This was made known during a tour of the Vlisco Group factory in Tema by the 2015 Vlisco ambassador Elizabeth Akua Nyarko Parterson.

The programme forms part of the organization’s corporate social responsibility to reach out to the society at large.

The tour was organized for Elizabeth Akua Nyarko Parterson to acquaint herself with the operations and activities ov the company as well as interact with the staff of the Vlisco group.

The Training and Development Coordinator, Prudent Ayiku who took the 2015 ambassador on the factory tour briefed the ambassador on the various stages that the Vlisco textiles go through.

The tour started from the design studio where all the designs are created, and then to the production floor through to the finishing department.

The brand ambassador was also taken to the ‘Tailoring As A Service’ department (TASS) which is a new department which has been created by the Vlisco group to design and sew for clients who purchase Vlisco products across the country.

The Marketing Director of the Vlisco Group, Rev Stephen Badu noted the tour is to enlighten and embolden the recently elected ambassador to understand the brand and be able to represent the brand well.

Rev. Badu said the brand ambassador will also be the patron for the Vlisco Tailors Academy, a Corporate Social Responsibility programme which is designed to encourage the underprivileged but talented tailors to boost their skills.

“Vlisco Tailor Academy is our Corporate Social Responsibility programme and her role essentially is to encourage the underprivileged but talented tailors to train and to boost their skill level”.

The elated 2015 brand ambassador, Elizabeth Akua Nyarko Parterson after the tour expressed her excitement with the Vlisco group and promised to be the best ambassador for the brand.

“I know is going to be a fulfilling and busy year so my expectation is to be the best ambassador for the Vlisco brand because Vlisco is classic and timeless and hope to represent the brand very well she stated”.
