The state will today [Thursday] bid farewell to the late designer of the Ghana national flag, Theodosia Salome Okoh who passed on in April at age 92.
[contextly_sidebar id=”VgAIMz9cT1RqNkGeAWINWe8vAd47rJhF”]The state funeral will take place at the forecourt of the State House and she will later be buried at the Osu Cemetery.
Apart from her family, the funeral is expected to be attended by government officials, Members of Parliament (MPs), members of the diplomatic corps, members of the sports fraternity, among others.
A thanks-giving service is also scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Ridge Church in Accra.
Madam Okoh was the first female Chair person of the Ghana Hockey Association; and the Accra hockey pitch has been named after her due to her massive contribution to the development of the sport in Ghana.
Until her death, she was a patron of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG).
