The Volta, Central and Eastern Regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have endorsed the proposed plan to remove the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong.

Citi News sources confirmed that the executives in these three regions passed a unanimous vote of no confidence in Afoko and Agyepong on Monday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”2tbzXsaXp716KG4pSfMixkQsGNp0sGep”]Regional Executives of all the 10 regions have been locked up in meetings concurrently to consider the possible impeachment of the two leaders following the murder of the party’s Upper East Regional chairman, Adam Mahama.

Two thirds of the regional executive committees are needed to begin the impeachment process.

The party’s National Council is expected to call for an emergency congress for a final decision to be taken on the matter.
