Redrow Developments Limited has dismissed media reports indicating that one of its residents, actress Yvonne Nelson has had her power supply disconnected over an illegal connection.
A statement signed by the Chief Executive Office of the company, Christopher Aryeetey clarified that Ms Nelson’s house is legal connected.

The company also denied reports that the entire Redrow Estates has had its electricity supply disconnected.
Media reports on Sunday indicated that Yvonne Nelson, who had recently led a massive vigil in Accra to protest the three-year power crisis in the country had had her electricity disconnected after officials of the Electricity Company of Ghana discovered that she had illegally connected electricity to her house.
The reports also indicated that the entire estate had had its electricity supply disconnected since all the houses had illegal connections.
Mr. Aryeetey in the statement admitted that some houses had illegal electricity connection and thus had their power disconnected by the ECG.
He explained that the illegality happened because his outfit sub-contracted the connection and installation of electricity to the estate to an electrical firm which failed to divulge information on some constraints they were facing in undertaking the contract.
“As a company, we do not condone the illegal use of electricity. Unfortunately, the contractor misinformed management on the status of the availability of meters from ECG and their [ECG] process for connection of electricity as a temporary measure,” he said.
“Upon an inspection by the officials of ECG, they drew our attention to the illegal connections of 12 houses and further issued penalties, part of which has been paid.”
Mr. Aryeetey mentioned that arrangements are underway with the support of ECG to install meters to the affected houses.
