Paul Evans Aiddoo has been appointed as the new Western Regional Minister .
Ebenezer Teye Addo who served as the former minister for the region will now leave for the Central Region.
A special handing over ceremony was held at the Western Regional Administration to welcome and also bid farewell to the regional Ministers.
The ceremony was attended by members from the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Heads of institutions, National Democratic Congress (NDC) party faithful and members of the general public.
Paul Evans Aidoo left the Western Region for the Brong Ahafo Region about 13 months ago. Some NDC party faithfuls trooped to meet him at Nchaban amidst brass band music.
He was accompanied by the Brong Ahafo Chairman of the ruling NDC, women and youth organizers and some traditional authorities.They described Mr. Evans Aidoo as a hardworking man who helped to resolve many chieftaincy conflicts in the Brong Ahafo region. Mr Aidoo was installed as a chief in the Brong Ahafo Region to commend him for his efforts.
The Western Regional Chairman of the NDC, Nana Toku officially welcomed Mr. Evans Aidoo.
Ebenezer Teye Addo presented a document to Paul Evans Aidoo.
“You can have all the best health centres, the best schools, the best infrastructures everywhere in the region, but if there are no portable roads to these facilities they become worthless, they will become white elephants. The major problem in the region during my stay that I witnessed is poor roads, and all necessary have been put in to address them, some are already receiving facelift”. The outgoing western regional minister indicated.
Paul Evans Aidoo pledged to work hard to address the needs of the region especially the road network.
“Everybody may be discussing education in this country come 2016 general elections, but I can assure you that the main issue that will take the centre stage, our people will be looking for good road network” Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo said.
