Security analyst, Dr. Kwesi Anning has charged government to deal with what he calls the growing impunity with which murders are being committed in the country.
According to him, it is alarming that the nation has reached a state where “murders can me committed with such impunity.”

His comments come on the back of the murder of the Upper East Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adam Mahama through an acid attack on Wednesday.
Reports suggest that Adam Mahama and his wife were on their way home when the two assailants stopped his vehicle and poured the acid all over him.
He was rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional hospital but died on Thursday.
The Police have arrested one of the suspects and has mounted a manhunt for the other who is currently on the run.
The incidents led to some violent attacks on some party members who went to the hospital to sympathize with the family.
In an interview with Citi News, Dr. Anning said the nature in which Adam Mahama was murdered was a “shock to all of us.”
He stressed that the nation should come together and support the security agencies to find effective ways to curb such heinous acts as well as assist the Police with any useful information which could lead to the arrest and subsequent prosecution of perpetrators.
The security analyst further questioned the chemical importation regime existing in Ghana, which makes it possible for ordinary Ghanaians to access concentrated acid to commit such crimes.
“To be able to pour acid on a human being several times and for that person to basically burn or melt raises questions about the regime covering the importation of chemicals and the carrying of such dangerous chemicals.”
