Online retail shop, Zoobashop has sued the Courier Services Commission following a raid on its offices by the commission last week.

However according to the Courier Services Commission the raid was part of measures by the commission to flush out illegal courier operators.
Chief Executive Officer of the Courier Services Commission, Isaac Annan Riverson told Citi Business News about 95 percent of courier operators without licenses have commenced processes to regularize their operations since the raid.
‘’Almost all the companies we dealt with have begun processes with us to regularize their operations but Zoobashop has gone to court because they believe they don’t fall under the purview of our regulatory arm so our lawyers are dealing with it.’’
Though the Courier Services Commission has maintained that Zoobashop is operating a courier service, the company disagrees.
Director of Operations at Zoobashop, Andrew Teye Aguda told Citi Business News in an earlier interview that their brand has been affected by the raid hence their lawsuit.
‘’Per the commission’s understanding of the law, we are a courier company; and the law doesn’t state that once you own a branded motorbike you are a courier company and so if there is a dispute about what our interpretation of the law is then let the law courts determine that and we will gladly oblige.’’
