New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo will arrive in the country later today for the burial rites of the Upper East Regional Chairman who died from injuries from an acid attack on Thursday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”ErBwjt0tjWyLR9eI2w4pBB1jAZHfjido”]Nana Addo who was in the Netherlands when the incident occurred had to cut short his 16 day tour of some European countries.

He had condemned the act and called on the Police to investigate the matter thoroughly.

In a related development the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamadu Bawurmia is asking NPP supporters across the country not to jump into hasty conclusions over the death of Adams Mahama.

Dr. Bawurmia says party supporters should allow the Police to deal with the situation.

“We will just want all of our supporters to be calm, this is not a period for reaching hasty conclusions. Lets allow the law to take its course and then investigations to take place. What Adam Mahama needs now are our prayers. We need to pray for him, we need to pray for his wife and his children and his extended family. They are going through a lot right now that you and I cannot imagine,” he added.

Meanwhile, NPP leadership say they are hoping to convince the family of the late Adam Maham to allow the deceased to be buried on Saturday, May 23.
