The Electoral Commission (EC) has postponed the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting scheduled for Friday, May 22.

[contextly_sidebar id=”C8JPutg4bE4vT0xObubBCJWAHboDqoj7″]The EC postponed the meeting following the murder of the Upper East Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Adam Mahama died on Thursday at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital after an acid attack on him on Wednesday night by some two persons.

A statement signed by the Deputy EC chairman in charge of operations, Amadu Sulley said a new date will be announced at a later date.

He said the Commission “deeply regrets any inconvenience the postponement might cause.”

The IPAC was formed in March 1994 to bring together representatives of the various political parties on a monthly basis together with members of EC to discuss and and build a consensus on electoral issues.
