Police secures NPP headquaters

There is a heavy police presence at the National Headquarters of the New Patriotic Party.

About fifty police personnel drawn from the Formed Police Unit lead by the Director of Operation of the Ghana Police, COP John Kudalor and the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, ACP Yoosa Bonga.

[contextly_sidebar id=”40GCUglLz5SFgscKhz2ITYQKY6IRZTC2″]Citinews`s Kojo Agyeman reported that the Police picked up intelligence about a possible reprisal attack on the party`s Headquarters following the death of the Upper East Regional Secretary of the Party, Adams Mahama.

Officers say they are here to protect lives and properties and avert any possible reprisal attacks.

The junction to the party from the Semi`s Pub  section to the Building  has been blocked, while the other section leading to the Aylum Down roundabout is also blocked.

The main entrance of the premises has been sealed off by about fifteen of the police officers. Party officials and supporters are not allowed to enter the premises.

The Director of Operation of the Ghana Police, COP John Kudalor told Citi News` Kojo Agyeman that they  decided to come to the premises here to secure the place place.

He said, “ we are here to secure the NPP headquarters because that is the center of any agitation if there would be. That is why we are at least to ensure that there is peace order and law for.  And also to make there is peace in the vicinity here for neighbours here. We are yet to meet with the party executives because as you can see none of them are here.”
