I’m not using sex appeal to promote my songs – Eazzy

Hiplife artiste, Eazzy, has dismissed criticisms from the public that she has resorted to sex appeal and provocative costumes in her music videos to promote her songs.

[contextly_sidebar id=”lIMeDWx5JTpxXU7Ign5ty2NDjpzdOVGC”]The criticisms came about because of Eazzy’s outfit in her latest music video, Burning Love featuring 4X4, which some have described as too revealing and provocative.

In an interview with Showbiz last Friday, the Emergency hitmaker described the condemnation as humorous and misplaced since she had never been conservative in her dressing and costumes since she entered the music industry.

She added that the public was being hypocritical in their condemnation since in her opinion, the outfit she used in the Burning Love video was not overly sensual and she was well covered although it was made from a sheer fabric.

“Since day one, I have always shown skin on stage and my music videos so why the negative comments now? If you look back at my stage performances and music videos when I started, you would notice that most of the dresses were much more revealing than what I wore in the Burning Love music video,” she said.

Eazzy explained that her choice of costume was appropriate for her concept since the music video was set at the beach. “The setting of the music video was at the beach so what did people expect me to wear.

“It is not as if I was wearing the dress in town to warrant the type of backlash that has been generated on social media. It has been a surprise to me. Obviously, I could not wear “slit and kaba” or a long skirt because I was at the beach and had to depict that,” she added.

Eazzy, real name, Mildred Ashong, told Showbiz that despite the negative comments, she remains steadfast in her bid to make good music for the fans and promote her latest album, Rangers.

“I have been doing music for almost five years and I am used to hearing people pass comments about my choices but the truth is that, people will have their own opinions about whatever you do and the best option available is to continue to do what makes you happy,” Eazzy added.
